Morel won the Red Dot Award!
For the 3rd time in the space of six months, Morel has won an award for the design of its Öga Lamtra frame. After receiving both a V Award (Hong Kong) and an iF DESIGN (Germany), Morel has now also won the prestigious Red Dot Award in the product category!
A STANDARD-SETTER IN THE WORLD OF DESIGN
Each year, the Design Zentrum in Essen awards Red Dot Awards as a way of recognizing companies that have been the most innovative in terms of design. Recognized the world over, the prize is divided into three categories: Product, Communication and Concept.
Before this latest success, Morel had already realized an outstanding achievement in the world of design by winning the iF DESIGN Award last month, which is also an international prize.
ÖGA LAMTRA: AN EXCEPTIONAL FRAME
Successfully impressing a jury of experts from all over the world, and in the face of competition from thousands of other candidates too, represents mission accomplished for Morel!
Developed in collaboration with expert cabinetmakers from France's Jura mountains region, the wood earpieces are astonishing for their aesthetic purity. Each consists of three strips of stained wood joined together at the end piece and the tip of the ear piece.
The flex concept incorporated into the single-piece titanium brow bar has been patented by Morel. The end piece is key to the whole frame technology: it incorporates a unique new hinge that joins seamlessly to the openwork ear piece.
The Öga Lamtra concept comes in three different color schemes, each combinable with any of four different lens shapes, and is available in a wide range of sizes.
